As I already told you, you can do so many things with polymer clay, more than just jewelry pieces. For instance you can coat things: glass, metal, wooden frames, etc. For today, I thought of a polymer clay coated perfume dispenser. I had a metal and glass perfume dispenser which was perfect for this project. I have coated it with polymer clay and painted it with golden powder to make it look more luxurious.
Materials and tools used:
black Fimo Professional Polymer Clay, pasta machine, flower stamps, a clay knife, Fimo golden powder, Fimo varnish, a perfume dispenser.
I have coated the perfume dispenser with polymer clay.
I have trimmed off the excess.
I have rolled it a little bit between my hands and then it looked like this:
I have imprinted the flower pattern into the polymer clay and then I have cut the flower shape using a clay knife.
I have pressed it (using gloves not to leave fingerprints on the clay) on the polymer clay coated perfume dispenser.
I have continued like this with more flower patterns and then pressing them on the polymer clay coated perfume dispenser.
I have decorated the perfume dispenser all around.
Then I have coated the cover of the perfume dispenser.
I have decorated it using the same technique.
I have painted it with a mixture of Fimo golden powder and water. When completely dry, I have applied two layers of Fimo varnish.

I didn’t know that about polymer clay, that it could ‘coat’ other things. I might have to give it a go, playing with this medium.
As long as it’s a material that can be put in the oven (such as glass, metal, wood, etc.), you can coat it with polymer clay. If you press it well, you can do that without using liquid Polymer clay. I encourage you to play with polymer clay, it is very versatile, and the more you’ll use it, the more you’ll like it. Guaranteed!
