Hello dear friends!
I wanted to wish you a wonderful start for this week and I’m also sending you more inspiration for your clay. Christmas inspiration I mean.
I love Christmas and it’s a blast for me to work on Christmas inspired designs. I also like dimensional beads and I wanted to see how you could use the doming technique to make beautiful beads.
Again, you can use other shapes and sizes of cutters to make interestingly looking beads. And yes, you can easily adapt this idea and make beautiful Christmas decorations…
I’ve used some bead embroidered beads together with the Christmas domed beads to make a pair of statement earrings (and I have to tell you that I’m pretty happy with the result). And I hope that you’ll like them too.
But most of all I encourage you to try out this idea in your art studio and make your own domed clay beads. I used silver mica powder to color the embossed patterns (to have a faux silver look for these beads), but you can choose the mica powders that you most like to make these beads even more vibrant.
Material list:
Black polymer clay
round cutter
fondant cutter
silver mica powder
craft knife
ripple blade
an oven and an oven thermometer
pasta machine or clay roller
varnish and a brush
I also wanted to tell you that I’ve had some great Christmas inspiration during the week-end as I visited the Christmas Market in Montreux (Switzerland). It is considered one of the most beautiful Christmas Markets in Europe and it totally deserves its fame.
Here are some pictures I’ve taken there. But I have to tell you that it was impossible to capture the beauty of all the Christmas lights and of the Geneva lake shore. Not to mention that it wasn’t too cold for this time of the year and it was a delight to stroll through the Christmas village and take a look at the beautiful Christmas shops. I was really taken aback by the quality and the beauty of the items on display.

Wishing you a great week ahead!
Happy claying!
Mihaela

I also love the Christmas Market in Montreux. The Christmas lights are beautiful and its location on Geneva shores makes everything more fairy-tale like. I was pleasantly surprised by the beauty and quality of the Christmas market products. I also think you’d enjoy the Montreux experience and hope you’ll go there in the future.
